Tesla's Next Product Unveiling Could Be The Model Y Crossover

#Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that a new yet "unexpected" product will be unveiled next week on October 17th.

In hindsight, Musk had previously stated that the Model Y, along with a new electric minibus and a pickup truck are all part of Tesla's future model lineup, so next week's unveiling could include either one of the three cars.

The Model Y name however was confirmed by Musk while replying to a tweet about his company's future product naming strategy, where he said that Tesla "should be inconsistent in our naming conventions after Model Y," as reported by Auto Express.

Based on the Model 3 architecture, the Model Y compact SUV is expected to feature Model X design elements while ditching the complex gull-wing doors and adopting a price tag that would position it just above the Model 3. This render from RM Design however depicts a pseudo coupe crossover based on the Model 3.

Since the electric minibus Musk alluded to during Tesla's "Master Plan" conference is likely at least a year away, the Model Y remains the most likely candidate for the automaker's next product unveiling - unless they'll actually come out with the EV pickup first, which would indeed be an even bigger surprise.

Which of the three models would you like Tesla to reveal first?
