Fiat sold 2,732 cars last month, nearly matching the previous month's 2,754 cars, but still off from last year's pace. Fiat sales for August 2016 were down 21 % compared to the same month last year, and year-to-date sales are down an average of 17 - 18 % compared to last year.
Last month Fiat sold a total of 1,243 500 hatchbacks, up 13 %from the month before. The Fiat 124 Spider recorded 460 sales in August, down from the 480 sold in July. A lack of manual transmissions in certain parts of the country may be playing a significant role in that.
The first shipment of production 124 Spider Abarths is about to hit the shore within the coming week, so look to see the hottest version of the Fiat Spider to show up at Fiat Studios later this month. Also expect the model range to get filled out. Make sure you get to your dealer and put your deposits down, especially as there is a Labor Day Sale this weekend!

Fiat released details on the Abarth Racing Heritage option on the new Fiat 124 Spider Abarth. This is the Abarth Spider's signature, hand-painted, blacked out hood and trunk that pays homage to the original 124 Abarth Rally. The option is aimed at the collectors and aficionados of the legendary marque.

Abarth partnered with the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving to host the 2017 Abarth Experience. The Abarth Track Experience gives owners of a new 500 Abarth or 124 Abarth Spider a chance to sample the full performance of the car on a race track under the supervision of a professional driving instructor.
