Jannarelly Design-1 Roadster Coming To America For $84k

Want to get your driving gloves on the new #Jannarelly Design-1? You won't have to move overseas to do so, as the startup has just announced distribution in the United States.

The Design-1 is a retro (yet somehow contemporary) roadster penned by Anthony Jannarelly, who previously designed the Lykan Hypersport and Fenyr Supersport for W Motors and the Zarooq Sand Racer. Partnering with fellow Dubai expat Frederic Juillot of Equation Composite, the new Jannarelly Automotive first revealed the Design-1 almost a year ago, and has since started taking orders from customers in the Middle East, Russia, and Europe.

Now we're glad to report that it will be coming to America as well, through a new distribution deal with VanDouble Enterprises LLC, which will handle importation and registration. VanDouble says it will be fully legal for use on American roads.

Unfortunately, along the way, the price has ballooned from the $55k we originally expected to a more substantial $84k, taking it from Porsche 718 Boxster territory closer to that of the 911. The price of admission gets you a fully custom two-seat roadster, built to order around a tubular steel and aluminum chassis with fiberglass and carbon-fiber body panels.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine set far back from the front axle sends over 300 horsepower to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission for a 0-60 time quoted in under four seconds. And as you can hear from the new teaser video below, it sounds stellar in the process.
