The I-Pace concept, currently on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show, has electric motors at both the front and rear axles and pumps out a combined 400 hp and 700 Nm of torque. While easily enough power for most, it won’t provide the same incredible acceleration capabilities of the Model X P100D, for example.
If, in the future, Jaguar did want to rival the range-topping Model X, it could do so with a so-called I-Pace R-S.
Rendered here by X-Tomi Design, the model has been adorned in a selection of components previously used in R-S badged Jaguar models, including a fixed rear wing, large air intakes and a blacked-out grille.
While it is possible that Jaguar is discussing such a model internally, it is highly unlikely that it will hit the market any time soon, if at all. For now, the British brand is focused on ensuring that the ‘regular’ I-Pace is a success. If the production ready model looks anything like the concept, it certainly has great potential.
