2017 Honda CR-V Launched With New Engine, Added Features And A $24,045 Starting Price

#Honda has dropped the official pricing details of the fifth generation CR-V, which goes on sale at dealers across the US from today.

Offered in the LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L with Navi and Touring trim levels, Honda's best-selling vehicle in the country carries an MSRP of $24,045 in its most basic flavor, with two-wheel drive, while the cheapest AWD variant adds a $1,300 premium, with destination and tax.

Depending on the selected version, the new CR-V can be had with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice controls, remote engine start, dual-zone climate control, two rear USB charging ports, heated side mirrors, LED DRLs, automatic headlights, and wheels up to 18-inch in size.

Pay at least $26,695 for the EX, and Honda will throw in a suite of driver assist technologies, which include the Road Departure Mitigation and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, in addition to the new features such as Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, Blind Spot Assistance, Driver Attention Monitor, and automatic high beams. The equipment is offered as standard from the EX up.

Billed as the top-selling trim, the EX also includes the new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet (243 Nm) of torque, which is based on the unit found in the Civic, and returns 28/34/30 mpg (8.4/6.92/7.84 l/100 km) in city/highway/combined. The entry-level LX, on the other hand, uses last year's 2.4-liter naturally aspirated unit that churns out 184 HP and 180 lb-ft (244 Nm) of torque. Both engines are mated to a CVT and push the output to the standard front-wheel drive, or optional AWD.

The latter, however, benefits from an upgraded system, with an increase in maximum rear-wheel torque delivery and a new electronic control that improves grip.
