The Next-Gen Alfa Romeo Giulietta Could Look Just Like This

Alfa Romeo is in the midst of a complete overhaul of its product line, having just revealed the Stelvio crossover and launching the Giulia sedan around the world.

So what's next? Probably a replacement for the Giulietta, and it would probably look pretty close to the renderings you see here.

The current Giulietta was introduced in 2010 as an Italian alternative to the likes of the Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series. Now more than six years old, it's the second oldest model in the company's lineup, fresher only than the smaller MiTo that was rolled out in 2008.

That makes it prime for replacement, particularly given the vitality of that market segment and the fact that, with the Fiat Bravo and Dodge Dart now discontinued, the entire Fiat Chrysler group has no real competitor in that class save for the budget-oriented Tipo.

Given how closely Alfa applied the Giulia's design theme to the Stelvio, rendering artist Theo Chin figures it will do the same with the Giulietta. The Italian automaker has been tipped to switch the hatch from front- to rear-drive in its next iteration, which would make it sportier and an intriguing alternative to the BMW 1-Series.
