Buick Avista Concept Still Makes Us Wish They'd Build It

More than 10 months after we've caught an initial glimpse of the #Buick Avista in Detroit, the study has been taken to the 2016 LA Auto Show, for a local premiere.

Its design remains untouched, but since it has sparked several debates, most of which revolved on a possible production model that doesn’t seem to be anywhere in sight, the show car couldn’t have gone by unnoticed from the large automotive event that is taking place in the City of Angels.

"While you won't see the Avista Concept on the road as a production vehicle, its dynamic and moving blend sculptural beauty and spirited performance will inspire the next generation of Buick vehicles", the automaker writes, while describing it as "a sleek, sculptural concept coupe that aims to get the most out of every open stretch and hairpin turn."

Besides its neck-twisting design, the study promises to improve the driving experience by putting the Magnetic Ride Control to the test, which "delivers more precise body motion control". At its heart, there is a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine, which is said to be similar to the one used on the latest LaCrosse. The unit relies on an 8-speed automatic transmission to push 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
