Zero To 60 Designs Responds To Ford's GTT Complaints

Zero to 60 Designs, the company behind the GTT from the SEMA show, has issued a statement after it emerged that Ford's lawyers were investigating the vehicle's design elements.

Although the tuner failed to say if it has been approached by the Blue Oval regarding the GTT, Zero to 60 Designs unveiled a new logo for the car, one which doesn't bare quite the same resemblance to the logo used by the Mustang GT, as shown on the initial display car.

The company also clarified that despite widespread reporting, the model isn't dubbed the Mustang GTT and is instead known as the Zero to 60 Designs GTT.

Here is the statement in full:

“Following an incredible 2016 SEMA Show with the launch of the all-new Zero to 60 Designs GTT, with resounding success, this car was one of the most talked about cars in the industry. With this attention, came some questions about the styling of the logo and the resemblance to Ford Motor Company’s current Mustang GT logo.

With our message of paying homage to both the Ford Mustang GT and the Ford GT, the last thing we at Zero to 60 want to do is get in to a confrontation with Ford. It’s rather the opposite. We picked two of the most inspirational vehicles in the industry and provided our interpretation of it.

This new logo rendering represents our Zero to 60 Designs GTT. We learned over the past week that a few of the stories also mislabeled the car as the Mustang GTT and not the Zero to 60 Designs GTT. Those names are entirely different.”

In creating the GTT, the company wanted to combine the styling of the Mustang and GT supercar into a single package. It did just that, prompting Ford to consider legal action against the tuner. Ford has yet to say if it will proceed any further with the matter but if it does, it could put the brakes on the project.
