Honda Reveals South America's Sub-Compact WR-V In Brazil [w/Video]

#Honda has unveiled the WR-V sub-compact SUV at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show 2016, a vehicle which the brand plans to launch exclusively in South America next year.

The model's name is an acronym for 'Winsome Runabout Vehicle' and Honda says it offers both “excellent utility and a spacious cabin within a compact body size”.

Few details have been provided about the model other than the fact that it is being pitched to customers who enjoy active lifestyles and recreational activities.

The design of the WR-V is the only real talking point at the moment. The initial display car (pictured above) in finished in an intriguing shade of maroon which helps to accentuate many of the model's sharp styling cues, such as its angular front end and eye-catching lines along the sides.

As with many utility vehicles already on the market, the WR-V also includes some black exterior elements, including the front and rear wheel arches, side skirts and the front lip.

Discussing the model, president, chief executive and representative director of Honda, Takahiro Hachigo said “Ever since we began business in Brazil in 1971, Honda has been supported by a total of 24 million customers in Brazil through their purchase of our motorcycles, automobiles and power products. Introduction of this all-new WR-V is a testament to Honda’s commitment to the South American market, and we will continue to deliver more products unique to Honda that please our customers.”
