2017 Jeep Wrangler Recalled Over Possible Fuel Leak

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (#FCA) have issued a new safety recall on certain 2017MY #Jeep Wranglers.

The action covers just 359 examples across the United States, which may have a fuel tank that has a cracked or broken control valve, resulting in either over filling it, allowing debris to infiltrate, or posing a fuel leak risk in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of fire.

The affected vehicles were manufactured between November 1 and 3, 2016. They shall be inspected by the brand's dealers, who are responsible for replacing the fuel tank and pump free of charge, after owners schedule an appointment, subsequently to Chrysler notifying them.

As for the recall, this is expected to begin on January 2, 2017, but in the meantime, customers can contact the automaker at 1-800-853-1403, or the NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for any questions they might have on the topic.

This isn’t the first recall for the 2017 Jeep Wrangler, as last month the automaker announced another safety campaign that covered more than 180,000 Wranglers from the 2016 and 2017 model years, due to possible airbag problems that may not deploy in the event of a crash.
