Next-Gen Seat Ibiza Tipped To Debut In Geneva, Go On Sale Next Summer

Currently in development, the replacement of the #Seat Ibiza is expected to make its debut next spring, probably during the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, and go on sale in July, as Autocar writes.

The test cars continue to keep their design carefully tucked away under a thick layer of vinyl, but its overall design is said to mirror the design of the larger Leon.

A more premium cabin is also on the agenda, and space is believed to be improved throughout the interior thanks to the use of the MQB A Zero architecture, which will be eventually adopted by future versions of the Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Fabia as well. Some (if not all) of the engine lineup will be shared with the latter two models, and this will include VW Group's latest four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel units, along with the 1.0-liter three-cylinder.

Seat is also getting ready to roll out a crossover based on the new supermini. It will be known as the Arona, as the automaker announced a couple of months ago and, in turn, it will share many parts with the upcoming VW Polo-based SUV and take on subcompact SUVs such as the Nissan Juke and Peugeot 2008.
